Due to the impacts of COVID-19 and increased call volume, you may experience extended wait times when contacting our call center, billing center, and while using provider messaging through our patient portal. We appreciate your patience during this time and will respond to all calls and messages as soon as possible. For the latest COVID-19 information, visit vcuhealth.org/covid-19.

Multiple Center Listings

You may be eligible to be listed at centers outside your “home” transplant center’s organ procurement area.

Listing yourself at multiple centers does not affect your waiting time at your current transplant center — you continue to accrue time at your original transplant center. At the Hume-Lee Transplant Center, your wait time begins accumulating the first day you are listed.

Patients also have the option to transfer time from their “home” transplant center to VCU’s transplant list. The transfer adds to your accrued time at VCU and resets the accrued time at your other center.

For more information on multiple listings, see the UNOS brochure.

Listing at Hume-Lee

Listing at the Hume-Lee Transplant Center requires an evaluation appointment, for which we’ll request your medical records from your current doctor. You will also meet our transplant team.

Each transplant program has its own evaluation process, so we might need to repeat or conduct additional tests as part of your evaluation.

To make an appointment for a transplant evaluation, please call (804) 828-4104 during our business hours of Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm.
