College Student Volunteer Program

Traditionally, we welcome students from various colleges and universities at the beginning of each semester (Fall, Spring, and Summer). Undergraduate, graduate, or non-traditional students can become involved in many ways at VCU Health. To successfully apply to volunteer, you must begin working on the requirements before the semester begins. We expect a weekly commitment of at least two consecutive hours (excluding official university breaks and holidays) for the entire semester—this is approximately 20 hours of service. We encourage volunteers to participate for multiple semesters. Letters of reference will only be provided to volunteers who have served 40 hours or more (a record of hours can be provided at any time).

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there have been changes to our volunteer programs. Further changes may occur at any time. We will do our best to keep this page updated. We appreciate your patience and your understanding during these uncertain times.

2021 Programs

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, VCU Health volunteer programs were suspended and we will not be able to bring in any new volunteers during Spring or Summer 2021.

If you are interested in volunteering during Fall 2021, we encourage you to check back in early July for an update on the status of our program.

We appreciate your understanding as VCU Health continues to care for those who need us and to protect each other and our entire community. We encourage you to do everything you can to stay safe and well and to help stop the spread of COVID-19!
