Billing and Insurance

We’re glad you’ve chosen our team at VCU Health for your care.

Please bring photo identification and your current insurance cards to every appointment. To make sure your account is up-to-date, we will ask you to confirm your address, phone number, insurance and other personal information at each appointment. If you have Medicare insurance, we are required to ask you a few questions about your retirement date and other insurance plans to find out if Medicare or another plan should be billed first.

VCU Medical Center and MCV Physicians Billing

You may receive two billing statements for services received at VCU Health:

  • A bill from VCU Health MCV Physicians for services provided by your physician, such as an office visit or interpreting test results
  • A bill from VCU Health VCU Medical Center (formerly MCV Hospitals) for radiology, laboratory or pharmacy services

If you are billed by both the physician and the hospital, your insurance plan may require you to pay two separate copay, coinsurance and deductible amounts.

Payment Options

Cash, check and most major credit cards are accepted for payment. Please ask for a receipt if one is not offered to you. To pay your bill online:
