Information for Referring Physicians

We rely on a team of expert radiologists and nuclear medicine physicians as well as state-of-the-art technology to maintain our standard of excellent care. We offer our patients a number of traditional exams and cutting-edge procedures not only to diagnose, but also to provide therapeutic interventions. From breast imaging and vascular intervention to venous ablation and virtual colonography, our patients receive the highest level of treatment from a team of advanced radiologists.

Patients may choose to receive care at several convenient VCU Medical Center locations, including MCV Hospitals and Stony Point. A picture archiving and communication system (PACS) distributes images and reports through the VCU network and allows our referring physicians to have simultaneous access to results at any of our locations, as well as clinics, inpatient units and surgical suites.

To optimize radiological examinations, the Department of Radiology has provided a series of instructions for each of our primary procedures. As a referring physician, we encourage you to review these instructions with your patients prior to appointments to ensure that they understand the requirements.
