For Referring Providers

Thank you for choosing us as one of your professional health care partners.

We appreciate the opportunity to jointly care for your patients. This includes patients who need to be evaluated or treated for infectious disease and those who need ongoing or preventive infectious disease care in one of our subspecialty clinics.

Refer a Patient

We accept referrals for patients who need to be seen within any of the following programs:

  • General infectious disease. We provide diagnosis or treatment of unexplained symptoms (such as sudden high fever and rash) and for confirmed infections.
  • HIV Clinic. We offer long-term HIV management, access to clinical trials and more.
  • Musculoskeletal Infectious Disease Clinic. This multispecialty clinic brings together our infectious disease specialists, orthopedic surgeons and wound care specialists to treat infections of the bones, joints and muscles.
  • Transplant Infectious Disease Clinic. We work closely with transplant specialists and their patients who need help minimizing the risk of infection following an organ or bone marrow transplant.
  • Travel and Tropical Medicine Clinic. We can coordinate your patients’ vaccinations or preventive medications before they travel internationally.

To refer your patient, call (804) 828-6163 or submit our online referral form.

Our commitment to our colleagues

You can feel confident about sending your patients to us for infectious disease care or a second opinion. Our fellowship-trained specialists are skilled at treating challenging, aggressive infections that don’t respond to standard treatments.

We’ll also send you frequent communication about your patients’ diagnosis and prognosis and their acute or long-term treatments. Once we’ve got their infection under control and they’re ready to transition back to you for regular, ongoing care, we’re happy to help as needed for any additional treatments or monitoring.
