VCU Medical Center main entrance closures before and after Thanksgiving
While the main lobby is temporarily closed for construction, patients and visitors should enter the medical center from the Critical Care Hospital entrance on E. Clay St.

The lobby and main entrances of VCU Medical Center, 1200 E. Marshall St. and ED drive, will not be accessible to patients and visitors on certain days in November. (Enterprise Marketing and Communications)

VCU Medical Center’s Gateway Building entrances, located at 1200 E. Marshall St. and ED drive, and lobby will be temporarily closed starting Friday, Nov. 21, at 9 p.m., and on the following dates listed below. This closure is necessary to replace the flooring in the Gateway lobby.
Closure dates:
- Friday, Nov. 21, starting at 9 p.m.
- Saturday, Nov. 22
- Sunday, Nov. 23
The entrance and lobby will reopen on Monday, Nov. 24, at 4 a.m. and remain open until Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 9 p.m.
- Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 9 p.m.
- Thursday, Nov. 27
- Friday, Nov. 28
- Saturday, Nov. 29
- Sunday, Nov. 30
During the closure dates, patients and visitors will enter the medical center through the Critical Care Hospital entrance, 1213 E. Clay St.
On Friday, Nov. 28, from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m., valet parking will be relocated to the top of the 12th Street Parking Deck, 1213 E. Clay St., for patients and visitors.
The entrance and lobby will reopen on Monday, Dec. 1, at 4 a.m.
External and internal detour signage will be posted for wayfinding. Please exercise caution in this area and follow all detour signage.
