As 2025 draws to a close and the holiday lights begin to glow, we pause to reflect on the unwavering compassion and resilience that define our VCU Health community.
Whether you are a patient on the road to recovery, a dedicated member of our care team or a student with dreams of joining the health care workforce, this season is a reminder of the unending hope and healing we share together.
“This has been an exceptional year, and we have so much to celebrate with our students, our patients, our awesome team of faculty and staff and of course, our communities,” said Michael Rao, Ph.D., president of Virginia Commonwealth University and chairman of the VCU Health System Authority Board of Directors. “Thank you, for a year that's been lit by uncommon creativity, community and innovation. From all of us at VCU, we wish you a happy holiday season filled with peace and joy.”

This year has been filled with tremendous progress and growth for our academic health system. Our team members served more patients than ever before, setting a record for the number of people cared for at our inpatient and outpatient facilities. We also broke ground on several new health care facilities, bringing care and research even closer to the community than ever before.
“2025 was another record year for our academic health system," said Marlon Levy, M.D., MBA, senior vice president for VCU Health Sciences and CEO of VCU Health. “We’ve accomplished great things and experienced incredible growth because of our extraordinary team members. I am immensely proud of and grateful for the entire team's unwavering dedication to patients and community and look forward to what is to come in 2026.”
There are countless things to be thankful for as we look back on the past 12 months. To our patients, thank you for trusting us with your care. To our team members, thank you for tirelessly supporting our patients and striving for excellence each day.
As we look ahead to 2026, we remain committed to our mission to meet patients where they are so they can easily connect with our providers and receive world-class medical care.
