Eligibility

  • High School Senior or Recent High School Graduate or GED Holder
  • Resident of Greater Richmond Region
  • Committed to working in healthcare setting for 1-year
  • Not currently enrolled at 4-year College/University

Description

VCU Pathways to Healthcare Workforce (PHCW) provides workforce training to young adult residents between the ages of 17-26 to enter careers in the healthcare industry. Participants receive in-and out-of-the-classroom experiences focused on job readiness, career exploration, team building and shadowing opportunities with health care professionals. Our goal is for participants to transition into full-time employees as a healthcare professional, and utilize employee benefits, including tuition assistance to pursue postsecondary education.

This 2-3 day program prepares individuals for the work environment at VCU Health. Participants will receive job readiness training, guidance in their career, and shadowing opportunities with healthcare professionals. Our goal is for participants to transition into full-time employees as a healthcare professional, and utilize employee benefits, including tuition assistance to pursue postsecondary education.
