Dr. Mahdi is a member of several national societies such as RSNA (Radiological Society of North America), ARRS (American
Roentgen Ray Society), ASPNR (American Society of Pediatric Neuroradiology) and AAWR (American association of Women
in Radiology) etc. 

She received the following awards and honors:

  • WIMMS Travel Award for the Women Faculty Leadership Development Seminar- University of Missouri Women in Medicine and Medical Science award- Dec 2021
  • Certificate of Merit for “Spotlight on the Pediatric Eye: A Review of Orbital Anatomy and Congenital Orbital Pathologies” RSNA 2019.
  • RSNA trainee research prize (Fellow Award) for “Cerebral Perfusion is Perturbed by Preterm Birth and Brain Injury” RSNA 2016.
