Preparing for your visit to VCU Medical Center

VCU Medical Center is located in downtown Richmond, right off I-95 at Exit 74C. The campus includes:

Way Finder

Finding your way around VCU Medical Center is now easier. Way Finder lets you plan your visit, check parking options, and get turn-by-turn directions.

It guides you from your starting point to the right building, floor, unit, or clinic, making it easier to get where you need to go.

Free parking

Patients and visitors can park for free at the 12th Street Parking Deck and the Children's Parking Deck at 10th and Broad streets. Both decks are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Parking tickets must be validated at one of the following locations:

If you have an appointment at the Adult Outpatient Pavilion, you can also park for free there. Please validate your ticket at your appointment or at any information or valet desk in the building.

Valet services

Valet parking is offered Monday through Friday at these locations:

  • Ambulatory Care Center, 5 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Adult Outpatient Pavilion, 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Children’s Pavilion, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Gateway Building, 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • North Hospital, 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Valet service costs $5.00 at the Ambulatory Care Center, Adult Outpatient Pavilion, Gateway Building and North Hospital. It is free for patients, families and visitors at the Children’s Pavilion and Children’s Tower.

All valet locations accept new vehicles until 5 p.m. each day. After 5 p.m., valet staff stay to return vehicles until closing time.

After-hours valet pickup

If your car is still with the valet when we close, don’t worry — we’ll move it to the Gateway Building for safe overnight parking. A valet team member will be there until 9 p.m. to help you pick up your car. After 9 p.m., you can contact our security team in the Critical Care Hospital, and they’ll assist you with getting your vehicle.
