Pediatric Rehabilitation

The department provides comprehensive outpatient pediatric rehabilitation and care at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU. We strive to maximize the quality of life of children with activity limitations through the use of rehabilitation services. Our programs emphasize the enhancement of quality of life by improving functional independence, increasing participation in social activities, preventing further injury and by education in health maintenance.

CHoR is a specialty pediatric facility and provides services that center on the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions, including developmental disabilities, feeding disorders, chronic illness, recent injuries, orthopaedic problems, neurological disorders and associated behavioral disorders. The department provides specialty clinics in concussion and TBI care, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, spasticity, spina bifida, spinal cord injury and many other rehabilitation specific diagnoses.
