Foundation President retires after more than 25 years of service

A note from the Chairman of Children's Hospital Foundation's Board of Directors, Coleman Wortham, III:

After more than 25 years of service, Chris Broughton-Spruill has decided to retire from her role as President of Children’s Hospital Foundation on June 30, 2018. On behalf of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, I would like to express our sincere gratitude for her many years of hard work and dedication. Chris began her career at Children’s Hospital in June 1991, and she has guided the Foundation through many successful projects in support of the hospital, including the merger between Children’s Hospital and VCU Children’s Services to create Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU in 2010. Under her leadership, the Foundation has paid or pledged nearly $80 million to the hospital since then. The programs and services that are available to children in Central Virginia have improved tremendously because of her commitment.

In her retirement, Chris plans to enjoy spending time with her husband of 28 years, Gary, and dedicate more time to riding her Connemara horse, Calypso. While the Board conducts a search for Chris’s permanent replacement, Jim Deyarmin, CFO, will be filling her role in the interim.

Please join me in thanking Chris for her many years of service and wishing her all the best as she starts this exciting new chapter in her life.
