“Continually making both our staff and patient experience better.”

These are just a few of the responses given by VCU Health team members when asked to describe what ‘unrelenting hope’ means to them. And it’s a concept they know well, as they bring hope to anyone seeking care at a VCU Health facility. So, it’s only appropriate that ‘Unrelenting Hope’ was chosen as the theme for the health system’s celebration of National Hospital Week. 

The annual observance of Hospital Week, an initiative organized by the American Hospital Association, allows hospitals and health systems around the country to intentionally acknowledge the positive impacts of healthcare workers and the support they give to the communities they serve.

Every day, doctors, nurses, social workers, technicians, administrative staff, support staff and chaplains show up, prepared to work together and provide care to anyone who needs it. 

“Many say that working in healthcare is more than a career, it’s a calling. We are so grateful for all the team members who have been called to VCU Health,” said Marlon Levy, M.D., MBA, senior vice president of VCU Health Sciences and CEO of VCU Health System. “At our patients’ happiest or most frightening moments, we are there. It’s that reliability and consistency that solidifies our role as a trusted community partner and healthcare provider and instills hope in everyone that comes to our doors.”
