The nomination form submitted on his behalf stated, “I observed Brian Jones providing excellent customer service for a patient and family members. The patient asked for an item not on the menu and when Brian replied that it wasn’t available he saw the disappointment on the patient’s face and decided he would fix that item for the patient and family members. He responded with kind words and a smile. Brian’s caring nature and cheerful personality make him a shining star and a valuable asset to VCU Health CMH.” “Brian always treats everyone with respect and will go out of his way to help anyone, day or night. I was moved by the way he provided service for this patient and family, this is the norm for Brian.”
In addition to the award certificate, Brian received a STAR Service lapel pin, letter of commendation from Administration, a $40 gift certificate, and a parking place of his choice for the month
