The nurse practitioner was dismissive and almost hostile. Her communication style made it seem like she was annoyed with my visit to the office. I struggled with whether to come in, unsure if it would be productive. However, I felt it was better to err on the side of caution. When she then acted in a way that made me feel like I was foolish for coming and bothering her, it was disheartening. My message to her would be this: if you were in my shoes, feeling vulnerable, uncomfortable, and unsure, how would you feel if someone instead of educating you in a respectful manner was condescending and lacked empathy? Consider that you're speaking to people who are having a bad day, which is why they're in your office in the first place. I am confident she is knowledgeable, but that is only a part of being a healthcare provider. I hope she learns kindness so others do not have this same experience.

She looked at my eye from a distance and never even used a light to look into my eyes to determine if it may be pink eye or something else may be going on.
