Alyssa is very knowledgeable and friendly. She explains everything in a clear and concise manner making sure that I understand everything. Alyssa makes me feel very comfortable and I know that she cares about my physical and mental health. She treats me as a person not just a number. I'm sure she is that way with all her patients because you can tell that she cares for the individual/patient. I'm very thankful to be partnered with Alyssa during my weight loss journey.

I did not feel heard. I expressed my concerns and although I clearly expressed some differences in my discussion today versus a questionnaire I was still not heard. I felt after I expressed my concerns the provider would repeat what she was telling me and end each statement with "ok". Repeat and then "ok" I gave up and just wanted to leave knowing I would never come back. There was more attention paid to putting in detailed notes rather than looking at me In the eyes and listening. I came in with high hopes and left feeling worse than before. I am a long time VCU Health patient and see all of my doctors at VCU Health. I have never experienced this no empathy or compassion in treatment. I would suggest she listen to patients and take notes after talking with patients when they leave at a minimum. I came In person transparent and vulnerable. I have since found a new provider because I was serious about getting help. I hope this assessment helps the provider here at VCU Health treat each patient as an individual.

I love Dr.Waitkus! She simplified a very complicated diagnosis and brought clarity to my health condition. She took tests and got back to me quickly with results and follow-up. She discovered an underlying condition and has help me correct some contributing factors to get healthy. I am grateful for her!!
