Biography

Dr. Prajapati joined VCU in 2018 and he has served in a dual role of providing consultations to the Children's Hospital of Richmond Pediatrics Departments on the mental health care needs of the patients and also played a critical role in developing the pediatric consultation-liaison service. He currently has an outpatient clinic at Virginia Treatment Center for Children and is actively involved in training the next generation of adult and pediatric psychiatrists.

Dr. Prajapati is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He has been elected as the Fellow of the APA which is an elite group of psychiatrists with this honorary distinction to those who continue to make significant contributions to the field of psychiatry. His service to the patients and the trainees has been recognized with awards and honors. He has been awarded Richmond’s Top Doc Award in 2020, 2021, and 2022 by the Richmond Magazine.
