Biography

Dr. John Collins joined the VCU faculty in 2015 as Professor and Chief of the Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU. His previous positions include:
- Medical Department Head, aboard a US Navy Nuclear Powered Cruiser
- Head of the Department of Neurosurgery, Naval Hospital Oakland (California)
- Neurosurgery Division Officer, aboard the US Navy Hospital Ship USNS Mercy (rose to rank of Commander)
- Chief of Neurosurgery, Tripler Military Hospital (Honolulu, Hawaii)
- Assistant Professor of Pediatric Neurosurgery, Loma Linda Medical University
- Associate Professor and Chief of the Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery, West Virginia University School of Medicine
