Thomas Yeh, MD, PhD, FACS

Biography

Dr. Thomas Yeh joined the faculty at Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU in October 2014 as Director of the Heart Center and Chief of Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery. Dr. Yeh completed his residency at VCU Medical Center and continued his training at some of the country's most prestigious children's hospitals. 

Before coming to CHoR, Dr. Yeh served as the Elias Hanna Cardiovascular Foundation Professor and Chair of Cardiothoracic Surgery and Director of the Pediatric Heart Center at Tulane Medical Center from 2007 - 2014. Dr. Yeh was integral in the rebuilding Tulane's pediatric heart program post Hurricane Katrina. He was honored in the Louisiana section of Best Doctors in America from 2011 - 2014.

Prior to his time in Louisiana, Dr. Yeh was associate professor at Children's Medical Center of Dallas (2003 - 2007) and assistant professor at Kosair Children's Hospital at University of Louisville (1998 - 2003). Dr. Yeh also served as chief fellow of the prestigious pediatric cardiac surgery program at The Hospital for Sick Children at the University of Toronto.
