The Consultation

To schedule an appointment, simply call our office and request information. We will set you up with our free online education, or attend one of our free seminars, which can be done at your convenience. We will also send you information about us and a simple questionnaire so we can learn a little more about your medical history. Once you have completed the online education and send in the questionnaire, we will schedule an appointment to see a surgeon.

Our goals at your consultation include:

  • Helping you determine which surgery is appropriate for you;
  • Introducing you to the Surgical Weight Loss Center's team;
  • Learning information regarding your height, weight, history, medical co-morbidities (medical conditions caused by obesity), previous surgeries, etc., in order to determine whether you qualify for surgery;
  • Determining if there is a need for further evaluation prior to surgery (sleep study, cardiac evaluation, etc.)

Further consultations may be necessary to ensure you are stable to undergo surgery. These may include cardiology, sleep study, psychology, and/or others.

Once your surgeon determines you are an appropriate candidate for surgery, he will make a written request to your insurance company to approve coverage for obesity surgery.
