Learning from the experience of others is one of the most effective ways to get acclimated to a new job, advance professionally, and develop the skills you need to be an effective nurse. At VCU Medical Center, the Professional Edge Program fosters healthy mentoring experiences that meet the needs of nurses new to the medical center. The program is a declared first priority of our nursing administration and the nursing units, and it represents a significant and meaningful commitment of time and energy. It also represents the VCU Medical Center's dedication to the practice of nursing and our recognition of its impact on patient care.
Within days of becoming a member of one of our nursing teams, whether you are a recent graduate or an experienced nurse new to the staff, you will be paired with an experienced VCU Medical Center nurse to begin your structured preceptorship.
