Cellular Immunotherapy: Using Your Body's Own Immune System to Fight Cancer

5:30 PM - 6:30 PM

CAR T-cell therapy is a new type of immunotherapy in which a patient’s immune cells are genetically modified in the laboratory so they will attack cancer cells. VCU Massey Cancer Center was the first in Virginia to offer an FDA-approved form of the treatment. Join Dr. John McCarty, from Massey, as he explains how CAR T-cell and other cellular immunotherapies are changing the face of care for those with blood cancers.
