When and what is Medicare open enrollment?

  • The Medicare open enrollment period is from October 15, 2018 to December 7, 2018.  During that time, you can change your coverage from Original Medicare or a Medicare Advantage plan. 

  • If you’re satisfied with your current coverage and feel it will meet your needs for 2019, you do not need to do anything.

What Medicare Advantage plans does VCU Health participate in?

Original Medicare (parts A and B)
VCU Health doctors and hospitals accept all Original Medicare (parts A and B) and Medicare supplement plans. If patients have an Original Medicare plan, we can continue to see them.

Medicare Advantage (part C)
VCU Health doctors and hospitals accept most Medicare Advantage and Dual Special Needs plans (DSNP) including, Virginia Premier a wholly owned subsidiary of VCU Health System.
