In 2013, Candi Spraggins suffered life-threatening injuries after her van crashed as she was on her way to work. The next four months challenged her will and her family's strength. It also mobilized a cadre of medical experts from the first responders who treated her in the field, to the therapists who helped her recover and go home.
The VCU Medical Center is Central Virginia's only Level I trauma center.
