Mardi Gras -Themed Fun at Fundraiser to benefit
VCU Health CMH’s Pharmacy Connection
Feathered sequined masks, jesters, and beads were abundant at VCU Health CMH Foundation’s recent WinterFest 2018 Reverse Raffle. The event featured great fun, food, laughter, singing, prizes and more. With the help of very generous sponsors, unique entertainment, and all in attendance, this annual event raised more than $39,000 to benefit the hospital’s Pharmacy Connection, a medication assistance program. The amount raised was a record for the event.
When the last number was drawn, Nanci Bell was named the $10,000 Grand Prize Winner of WinterFest 2018! Other prizes awarded throughout the evening included cash, trips to the beach, stays at ski resorts, a grilling package, photography packages, plane tours, and more!
Entertainment this year featured unexpected performances from local stars who performed (in costume!) their own lip sync versions of “In the Jail House Now”, “Man of Constant Sorrow” & “You are My Sunshine”, drawing cheers and standing ovations. The star performers were Mrs. Judy Cleaton, Mr. Floyd Edmonds, Mr. Henry Edmonds, Mrs. Sandra Hubbard, the Honorable Dean Marion, Mr. Brentley O. Morris, Mrs. Judy Newman and Mr. Wayne Parrish.
The event was planned by CMH Foundation’s WinterFest committee: Beth Smith, Co-Chairman; Holly Blackwell, Kim Baty, Lisa Clary, Lynne E. Clary, Steve Creedle, Wendy Lenhart, Tammy Manning, Judy Newman, Brentley Morris, Melissa Morris, Carleen Wells, & Shannon Lambert, Co-Chairman.
