VCU Health CMH Reverse Raffle a Record-Breaking Sell-Out Event

 Mardi Gras -Themed Fun at Fundraiser to benefit 

VCU Health CMH’s Pharmacy Connection

Feathered sequined masks, jesters, and beads were abundant at VCU Health CMH Foundation’s recent WinterFest 2018 Reverse Raffle.  The event featured great fun, food, laughter, singing, prizes and more. With the help of very generous sponsors, unique entertainment, and all in attendance, this annual event raised more than $39,000 to benefit the hospital’s Pharmacy Connection, a medication assistance program.  The amount raised was a record for the event.

When the last number was drawn, Nanci Bell was named the $10,000 Grand Prize Winner of WinterFest 2018! Other prizes awarded throughout the evening included cash, trips to the beach, stays at ski resorts, a grilling package, photography packages, plane tours, and more!

Entertainment this year featured unexpected performances from local stars who performed (in costume!) their own lip sync versions  of “In the Jail House Now”, “Man of Constant Sorrow” & “You are My Sunshine”, drawing cheers and standing ovations. The star performers were Mrs. Judy Cleaton, Mr. Floyd Edmonds, Mr. Henry Edmonds, Mrs. Sandra Hubbard, the Honorable Dean Marion, Mr. Brentley O. Morris, Mrs. Judy Newman and Mr. Wayne Parrish.

The event was planned by CMH Foundation’s WinterFest committee: Beth Smith, Co-Chairman; Holly Blackwell, Kim Baty, Lisa Clary, Lynne E. Clary, Steve Creedle, Wendy Lenhart, Tammy Manning, Judy Newman, Brentley Morris, Melissa Morris, Carleen Wells, & Shannon Lambert, Co-Chairman.

Proceeds from this fun event will benefit VCU Health CMH’s Pharmacy Connection. Staff members of The Pharmacy Connection work on behalf of uninsured and underinsured patients to assist them in receiving free or low-cost medications from manufacturer-sponsored patient assistance programs.

WinterFest 2018 sold out several months in advance, and had a long waiting list of people who wanted tickets after the sell-out was announced!
