The physicians of the VCU Health Neurosurgery team provide a full spectrum of treatments for conditions, diseases and injuries of the brain, spine and spinal cord, and the body’s related nerves. VCU Health is a regional referral center for conditions of the central nervous system, trusted by healthcare providers across the region to diagnose and treat even the most complex cases.
Our approach extends beyond the Neurosurgery team, working with physicians, researchers and professionals across a variety of medical specialties to develop personalized care plans for each patient. Our team has a commitment to providing cutting-edge treatment in a compassionate environment, and along the way, we have pioneered new techniques and tools for the diagnosis and treatment of many conditions and injuries. VCU Health has a global reputation for helping set the standard of care in many areas of modern neurosurgery.
In Richmond’s West End, we have established the VCU Health Neuroscience, Orthopaedic and Wellness Center (the N.O.W. Center). It is a new concept in outpatient medicine for the multidisciplinary treatment of a wide array of both orthopaedic and neurological conditions. Through expertise in research, surgery, clinical practice and education, our internationally renowned physicians and faculty provide outstanding patient outcomes today, while tirelessly working to produce even better results in the future.
VCU Medical Center has been recognized in the top 50 in the country for neurology and neurosurgery by U.S. News and World Report, ranking No. 46 for 2018-19.
