Lifesaving liver transplant care for patients seeking another chance

Lifesaving liver transplant care for patients seeking another chance

The liver transplant program at VCU Health Hume-Lee Transplant Center is different. Here, our compassionate care and expertise allow our team to treat and transplant patients turned down by other transplant centers.

How is our care different? To start, our experts transplant high BMI patients, those suffering from severe alcoholic hepatitis and established a unique program committed to living liver donation.
“The next question has to be: How can I get this person with this problem to the operating room to give them a lifesaving organ?” said Dr. David Bruno, surgical director of adult and pediatric liver transplantation at the VCU Health Hume-Lee Transplant Center.

Hear from Dr. Bruno, who outlines the current state of our liver transplant program in our video.
