Nurse Residency Program and New Nurse Grads
All new graduates joining VCUHS participate in a new Graduate Residency Program coordinated through the Department of Education and Professional Development (EPD) in partnership with nurse managers and nurse clinicians.
UHC/AACN Post-Baccalaureate Nurse Residency Program:
This one-year program is part of an ongoing multi-site study exploring the benefits of a residency program that provides transitional support and promotes bedside leadership development. It is available to baccalaureate and post-baccalaureate new graduates. Key advantages of this program include: centralized orientation courses; unit-based preceptorships; seminars designed to address key topics for new graduate nurses; opportunities for peer networking and support; and access to new graduate program advocates.
