Labor and Delivery

Labor and Delivery RoomThe new Garland Birthing Center has four LDRP (labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum) rooms.  Upon arriving, moms are made comfortable in a birthing room to experience a family-centered labor, delivery and recovery. Members of the family, including the new baby, will have the opportunity to stay in the same spacious room for the duration of their visit.  

Centering Pregnancy

Centering pregnancy is group prenatal care with a personal touch.

Cynthia Austin, MD MPH FACOG

Cynthia Austin, MD MPH FACOG

Dr. Cynthia Austin earned her medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. She completed her residency and internship in obstetrics and gynecology at Franklin Square Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Austin in board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a Fellow of the American College of OB/GYN, the American Association of Gynecologists and Laparoscopists, the International Society of Sexual Medicine and the North American Menopause Society (NAMS).

Eric Reinertson, MD

 Eric Reinertson, MDDr. Eric Reinertson received his medical degree from the University of North Dakota Medical School in Grand Forks, ND.  He completed his residency and internship at Washington University / Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO.  Dr. Reinertson is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the American Association of Physician Leaders.

Terry Wootten, Certified Nurse-Midwife

Terry Wootten, Certified Nurse-MidwifeTerry Wootten, RN, MSN, CNM has over a decade of experience in midwifery and is certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).  As a nurse-midwife,
she is a licensed health practitioner who works collaboratively with the physician to provide healthcare to women at any stage of life. 

Terry earned her Bachelor's of Nursing degree from the University of Virginia and completed her graduate study in Maternal Child Health at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.  She received her Master's in Nursing at East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C.
