Technology Advances in Parkinson’s Disease

12:00 PM  -  1:00 PM

Join the Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Center for a conversation and audience Q&A with a panel of specialists in movement disorders. The session will be moderated by center Director Brian Berman, M.D., and exercise and wellness advocates from Power Over Parkinson’s.

Scientists continue working diligently to develop next-generation therapies to treat Parkinson’s. As a result, a number of technological advances are now available to help with diagnosis and understanding of Parkinson’s disease and to help treat and manage patients’ motor symptoms. The VCU experts will provide an overview of the latest technologies for the Parkinson’s community, including robotic-assist gait training/Keeogo exoskeleton device, eye-tracking diagnostics, vibration therapy and virtual reality. The audience can talk with our panelists about recent research advances in these therapies as well as who might consider these options.
