The Birthing Center

You have many different decisions to make in preparing for the birth of your baby. The LDRP Suites at nationally recognized MCV Hospitals are an attractive new option for you to consider.

Keeping the Family Together
LDRP - which takes its name from labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum - is an approach to childbirth that emphasizes the value of family togetherness and the convenience of being able to complete the entire birthing process in one private room.

For a woman who anticipates a normal delivery, the LDRP suites offer an idea combination - the extra comforts of a home-like atmosphere, along with top-quality medical care and nursing support throughout the birthing experience. After delivery, LDRP patients, like all our postpartum patients, benefit from personalized instruction and encouragement with breastfeeding, and other aspects of caring for a newborn.

Your Comfort Is Our Priority
Each suite's features many amenities to enhance your family's overall comfort, including:

  • A sleeper chair for your partner or support person.
  • A bassinet so your new baby can remain with you at all times.
  • A wardrobe for storing clothing and personal items.
  • A VCR, CD player, and a large-screen television.
  • A dining table with two chairs for convenient meals.
  • Access to a coffeemaker, microwave oven, and small refrigerator.
  • A rocker for relaxing with your baby.

If you would like your childbirth experience to include home-like comfort, one-room convenience, and a family focus, ask your doctor or call (804) 828 - 4634 for more details about the LDRP option.
