All agencies create, maintain, and share information about the children
and families with whom they work. Confidentiality of children’s
records is protected by laws passed by the Virginia legislature; however,
different agencies are bound by different laws and may have different
policies and procedures. The following section is organized by agency,
and includes answers to questions about how each agency keeps information,
allows parents to see and get copies of the information, and shares
information with other agencies or individuals.
You can use the links to the left to discover how each agency keeps
and shares its information.
