Multi-Modal Therapy for Hepatacellular Carcinoma
The multi-modal therapy for treatment of HCC is an aggressive approach to eradicate these cancers in cirrhotic patients who may be on the transplant waiting list. HCC is curable by surgery only if the tumor is small. Liver transplantation may also cure relatively small tumors. Surgery or liver transplantation may not be possible in all cases, usually if the tumor is large or has spread beyond the liver. Therefore, the multi-modal approach may relieve symptoms and prolong a person's life.

After you have been seen and evaluated by the doctor, the treatment options will be discussed in detail with you. The doctor will recommend which treatment option he feels is best for you.
