Islet cell coordinators are registered nurses who have experience and training in caring for patients. Islet cell coordinators assist and guide patients and families through the islet cell transplant process from the pre-operative to the post-operative process. They provide education and instruction to the patient and their families. They communicate information to all health care professionals regarding the patient's care before and after an islet cell transplant.
