Certified Neuroscience RN (CNRN) Certification Review Course
The VCU Health System is pleased to present the Certified
Neuroscience RN (CNRN) Certification Review Workshop on April 2 – 3,
2012 at the MCV Alumni House on the campus of the VCU Health System.
Description: This two-day program is a review course
designed to present a comprehensive review of care of the
neurological/neurosurgical adult. The content presented will assist
the experienced neuroscience nurse in preparing for the
certification exam (CNRN). This content should also benefit
Medical-Surgical nurses in caring for their neuro patients. The core
Curriculum is used as an outline/guide for content. Click on the

We are pleased to announce that the 5th Annual Pathways to
Knowledge Nurse Educator Conference will be held April 20,
2012 at the Sheraton Park South Hotel in Richmond, Virginia!

Description: The 6th annual Pathways to Knowledge Nurse
Educator Conference is intended to provide an accessible and
affordable forum to explore innovative approaches to common
education challenges in the classroom and clinical arenas. The focus
of this presentation is on the implementation of evidence-based
practice in staff development and measuring the impact of staff
development on organizational effectiveness.
About the Presenter: Donna Wright, MS, RN
is a nationally known staff development specialist, who provides
creative, fun learning opportunities for staff and leadership on
communication, relationship and conflict management, and on leading
empowered organizations.

Conference: 6th Annual Advanced Respiratory Care Conference
The VCU Health System is pleased to announce the 6th Annual
Advanced Respiratory Care Conference scheduled for September
19, 2012! So mark your calendar and plan to attend this
innovative regional conference.
Description: This Conference is aimed at Respiratory
Care Practitioners, Critical Care Registered Nurses, Emergency
Department Registered Nurses and others involved in the complex
management of pulmonary issues in critically ill patients. This
conference is meant to educate and encourage the collaboration of
health care professionals in the complex management of critically
ill patients with advanced respiratory care needs. This event will
carry continuing education credits.

by the Greater Richmond Area Chapter of AACN and the VCU
Health System, for healthcare staff working with acute and
critical-care patients. This represents an excellent opportunity for

practice.
This year's Conference will feature AACN President
Mary Stahl, MSN, RN, ACNS-BC, CCNS-CMC, CCRN, of Saint
Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. She will give her keynote
presentation "Together, Bolder, Stronger."
The conference will also feature Melissa Fitzpatrick, MSN, RN, FAAN,
past AACN president, and currently Vice President and Chief Clinical
Officer of Hill-Rom, along with Kathleen Vollman, MSN, RN, CCNS,
