Women's Services/Newborn Nursery

Main 8 East is a 36-bed Women’s Services (antepartum, postpartum, gynecology, and gyn/oncology) unit combined with a 25-bed newborn nursery providing comprehensive clinical care 24 hours a day. Unit staff is actively involved in patient care, patient/family education, resident support, medical and allied health student education and support of research protocols.

Provides services to gynecology patients experiencing surgical procedures such as:

• hysterectomy (abdominal, vaginal or radical),
• bladder repair,
• cystectomy,
• vulvectomy and exploratory laparotomy,
• perinatal loss,
• PID,
• chemotherapy and complications of chemotherapy and
• oncology disease progression.
