Medicine Telemetry Intermediate Care

This is a 27-bed unit including the capacity for 18 telemetry monitored beds and nine intermediate beds. The patient populations for this unit have a medical diagnosis with an underlying cardiac component that they need cardiac monitoring. The patients are either centrally monitored by telemetry or need higher level monitoring at the bedside. The diagnoses are renal failure, pneumonia, asthma, sickle cell crisis, pancreatitis, angina, cardiac arrhythmia, delirium tremors, substance abuse, tuberculosis, GI bleed, diabetes, AIDS, obstructive pulmonary disease, fetal demise and cystic fibrosis. Patient populations range in ages from 18 years old to the mature.
