The VCU Medical Center Endoscopy Unit provides comprehensive care for patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures, motility procedures, endoscopic ultrasound, capsule endoscopy, shock wave lithotripsy, and diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy. The Endoscopy Unit provides an area and atmosphere for the education of gastroenterology fellows, pulmonary fellows, surgical residents, medicine residents, and students in medicine and nursing. Research in disease processes, endoscopic procedures, endoscopic equipment, new medications and gastroenterology nursing practice is encouraged.
