The Neurosurgery Intensive Care Unit is a 14-bed intensive care unit within a Level I trauma center. NSICU specializes in the treatment of adolescent, adult and geriatric patients with a wide range of neurological disorders. Our clients experience neurological changes from disease processes or trauma, often resulting in sudden lifestyle changes.
These changes may be short or long term and may have a temporary or permanent impact on the patient and his/her family. The complexity of care requires an interdisciplinary approach to facilitate the patient’s progress through the acute phase to rehabilitation, and then, transition back into the community.
