The Medical Respiratory Intensive Care Unit is a 12-bed unit specializing in the care of critically ill adult patients with non-surgical respiratory and/or medical disease.
Primary admission diagnoses include, but not limited to:
- GI bleed,
- respiratory failure,
- drug overdose,
- sepsis,
- multi-system failure,
- post-cardiopulmonary arrest,
- serious acid base and electrolyte disturbances,
- diabetic keto-acidosis and
- significant acute compromise of kidney or liver failure.
