Transplant

The Clinical Transplant Center is an intermediate/intensive care unit that provides specialized care to transplant patients (kidney, kidney/pancreas and liver) and donors. Adult, geriatric, school-age and adolescent patients weighing more than 30kgs are eligible for admission to the unit. Patients are admitted to the intermediate/intensive care unit for preoperative transplant preparation, management of acute conditions, and/or postoperative management. Postoperative kidney and kidney-pancreas transplant patients are received directly from the PACU. Liver transplant patients are transferred to the intermediate care unit after a stay in the STICU.
