Dalton Ambulatory Oncology Clinic

The Dalton Ambulatory Oncology Clinic has over 30,000 patient visits annually. Patients range in age from adolescent to geriatric. Multispecialty care is provided by three major services - Hematology Oncology, Surgical Oncology, and Gynecology Oncology.

Processes to provide care range from consultation and diagnosis to terminal care including patient/family education, chemotherapy and blood product administration, monitoring of research protocols, surgical biopsies and ongoing follow-up of patients. In Dalton, we practice a combination of primary and team nursing. This model allows continuity with our physician partners as well as our patients and their families. The greatest satisfaction of our staff is the relationships that we build with out patients and families as we care for them through their cancer experience.

Nursing staff consists of 24 nurses and six care partners. Over 40% of the staff are baccalaureate prepared and three hold master's degrees. Seven nurses are certified in a specialty.
