Upcoming in-person bladder health talk

VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital provider shares his expertise on incontinence, which he says is not a normal part of aging. 

John Pearson, MD John Pearson, M.D., is a board-certified urologist giving a talk on incontinence on Sept. 19.

Urinary incontinence is the inability to control one’s bladder. It affects one in six Americans, and studies show 44% of people are embarrassed to talk about it. Incontinence is not just part of aging. It is treatable. 

Back by popular demand, the next edition of the Community Out-Reach Education (CORE) series will focus on incontinence causes and treatment options. The in-person talk will be held on Sept. 19, 2023, from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.

The talk will be led by CMH Urological ServicesJohn Pearson, M.D., a board-certified urologist with a special interest in urogynecology. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and member of the American Urological Association. Before joining VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital, Pearson served in the United States Navy as a lieutenant commander. 

The CORE talk will be held in the C.A.R.E. Building in education classrooms 1113-1114, with snacks and water provided. The C.A.R.E. Building is located next to the hospital at 1755 N. Mecklenburg Avenue, in South Hill. Please let the front desk know you are there for a talk in the education classrooms.
