Dec. 22-29

1. Drew Waterman was named CEO of Grand Island (Neb.) Regional Medical Center. 

2. Robert Boesch, DNP, RN, was named chief nursing officer of Atlanta-based Emory University Hospital.

3. Sean Gregory has stepped down from his role as CEO of PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, Wash. Tracey Fernandez, the hospital's CFO, will serve as its interim CEO. 

4. Bret Kolman will retire as CEO of Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Mo., in January 2024.

5. Bradley Chapman was named president of Memorial Hospital in North Conway, N.H.

6. Jason Foland, MD, will become president of the Studer Family Children's Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart in Pensacola, Fla.

7. William Ermann plans to retire as CEO of Guymon, Okla-based Memorial Hospital of Texas County on March 30. 

8. Sean Tinney was named CEO of Cedar Park (Texas) Regional Medical Center.

9. B. Konard Jones will retire Dec. 31 from his role as president and CEO of Fairfield, Calif.-based NorthBay Health. He is succeeded by Mark Behl, former executive vice president and COO of Froedtert. 

10. Beata Mastalerz, DNP, RN, was appointed executive director of Phelps Hospital in Tarrytown, N.Y., succeeding Eileen Egan, RN, who has retired.

11. Keith Biddle, COO of Point Pleasant, W.V.-based Rivers Health, will retire from the healthcare industry in mid-January. 

12. Deborah Berini was named chief integration officer and interim chief administrative officer of Iowa City-based UI Health Care. 

13. Maria Caruso is serving as the interim CFO for HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital.

14. Vijay Shah, MD, was named Mayo Clinic's Kinney Executive Dean of Research.

15. Laura Easton is retiring as president and CEO of Lenoir, N.C.-based UNC Health Caldwell. David Lowry, MD, the system's chief medical officer, will succeed her. 

16. William Ermann was named CFO of Silver City, N.M.-based Gila Regional Medical Center. 

17. Cynthia Ziegler was named vice president of revenue cycle management at Teaneck, N.J.-based Holy Name Medical Center.

Dec. 16-21

1. James Murray, MD, was named permanent chief medical officer of Wenatchee, Wash.-based Confluence Health.

2. Cheri Canon, MD, was named as the next president of the University of Alabama Health Services Foundation and chief physician executive of the University of Alabama at Birmingham Health System.

3. Lorraine Lutton, president and CEO of Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, Ohio, will retire in April.

4. James Leonard, DO, was selected as the new CEO of Valparaiso, Ind.-based Northwest Health-Porter.

5. Kathleen Morimoto was named president and CEO of Honolulu-based St. Francis Healthcare System of Hawaii.

6. Whitney Johnson, RN, was selected president of Allina Health's Owatonna (Minn.) Hospital and Faribault (Minn.) Medical Center.

8. David Linehan, MD, was named CEO of the University of Rochester (N.Y.) Medical Center, dean of the School of Medicine and Dentistry, and senior vice president for health sciences, effective Feb. 1.

10. Lee Ann Liska, COO and interim president of Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanderbilt University Hospital, was selected to serve as the hospital's president.

34. Katy Ostermaier, MD, will serve as division chief of developmental behavioral pediatrics in the department of pediatrics at Houston-based Texas Children's.

35. Debra Palazzi, MD, was named chief of infectious disease in the department of pediatrics at Texas Children's. 

36. Katri Typpo, MD, will return to Texas Children's as chief of critical care in the department of pediatrics.

1. George Hernández Jr. will retire as president and CEO of San Antonio, Texas-based University Health.

2. Adrienne Joseph, PhD, was named CEO of Houston Methodist Baytown (Texas) Hospital.

3. Robert "Bo" Cofield, DrPH, was named COO of Flagstaff-based Northern Arizona Healthcare. 

4. John Petrov was named chief human resources officer of the University of Alabama at Birmingham Health System.

5. James Newman, associate vice president for finance at Nashville, Tenn,-based Vanderbilt University Medical Center, was appointed vice president and divisional CFO for the system's clinical support services division.

6. Shauna Cameron was named CEO of Houlton (Maine) Regional Hospital.

7. William "Bill" Calhoun was named CEO of Providence's Montana service area.

8. Laurin St. Pe was selected as the permanent CEO of Singing River Health System in Ocean Springs, Miss.

9. Said Ibrahim, MD, started in roles as dean of Sidney Kimmel Medical College and president of Jefferson University Physicians on Dec. 1. The roles are both with Philadelphia-based Thomas Jefferson University.

10. Dale Sowders, CEO of Holland (Mich.) Hospital, will retire in early 2024 after 22 years with the organization.

11. Dave Smith resigned as CEO of Lancaster, Wis.-based Grant Regional Health Center.

12. Will Davis was named president of Evansville, Ind.-based Deaconess Health System's Illinois region. 

13. Laura Iavicoli, MD, is the new chief medical officer at NYC Health & Hospitals' Elmhurst hospital in New York City.

14. Dave Holson, MD, was named chief medical officer at NYC Health & Hospitals' Queens hospital in New York City.

15. Chad Fitzgerald was named executive vice president and leader of the clinical support services division at Nashville, Tenn,-based Vanderbilt University Medical Center. 

16. Marilyn Margolis retired as CEO of Emory Johns Creek (Ga.) Hospital. Heather Redrick, who serves in a dual capacity as the hospital's COO and chief nursing officer, is its new leader. 

17. J. Larry Jameson, MD, PhD, has agreed to serve as the new interim president of the University of Pennsylvania, replacing Liz Magill after her resignation. 

18. Karandeep Singh, MD, was selected as the inaugural chief health artificial intelligence officer of UC San Diego Health.

19. Alyssa Moyer, MD, was named president of WellSpan Health's York (Pa.) Hospital.

20. Tonya Darner was appointed the permanent chief executive officer of UP Health System-Marquette (Mich.).

21. James Rohrbaugh is leaving his role as CFO of Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Health Network.

22. Ernie Bovio is stepping down as president of Raleigh, N.C.-based UNC Health Rex to become president of Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center and Coastal Market in the Wilmington, N.C. region.

23. Brian Durniok was named president of Erie, Pa.-based UPMC Hamot and Pittsburgh-based UPMC's Northwest Pennsylvania and New York market. 

24. Robert Fitzgerald, MD, was named president of its Helen DeVos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids, Mich.

25. Kenneth McGhee was named executive vice president of finance and CFO of Sinai Chicago.

26. Ed Hubel was named president of Fleming Island, Fla.-based Baptist Medical Center Clay.

27. Cindy Rios, who has served as interim CFO since 2022, was named executive vice president and CFO of Cambridge, Mass.-based Beth Israel Lahey Health.

28. Kristen Lepore, executive vice president and chief administrative officer, will also assume additional responsibilities and oversee Beth Israel Lahey Health's emergency management. 

29. Rob Fields, MD, executive vice president and chief clinical officer of Beth Israel Lahey Health, will assume additional responsibilities to align healthcare quality, population health and clinical services.

30. Adam Copher, DNP, MSN, was named chief nursing officer of HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital in Hudson, Fla. 

31. Jerry Klein, COO of Gillette, Wyo.-based Campbell County Health, is stepping down from his post.

1. Penny Castellano, MD, was named president of the Emory Healthcare Physician Division, a newly created position, as well as interim director of Emory Clinic.

2. Terika Richardson was named senior executive vice president and COO of Chicago-based CommonSpirit Health.

3. Theodore DeWeese, MD, is the new CEO of Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins Medicine and dean of the John Hopkins University School of Medicine. 

4. Kristen Bowman was named CEO of Broward Health's community hospital in Coral Springs, Fla. 

5. Tim Reeves resigned as CEO of Renovo, Pa.-based Bucktail Medical Center amid the hospital's financial struggles.

6. Jeff Lindsay was selected as Chapel Hill, N.C.-based UNC Health's new president and COO.

7. Jon Rozenfeld was selected as market president for UnityPoint Health's Des Moines market in Iowa.

8. Tomer Singer, MD, was named chief of reproductive endocrinology and infertility at New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health.

5. Paul VerValin, executive vice president and enterprise COO of Sayre, Pa.-based Guthrie Clinic, was appointed to a dual role as president of its Corning (N.Y.) Hospital.

6. Cory Everett resigned from his position as COO of Maryville, Tenn.-based Blount Memorial Hospital. No interim or replacement has been named.

3. Mike Rogers was fired after about a month on the job after hospital staff discovered he was a convicted felon who changed his name last year. 

4. Courtney Lewis Starnes was named senior vice president and chief information officer of Buffalo, N.Y.-based Kaleida Health.

5. Robert Laba was named CFO of Burlington-based Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.

6. Shelly Loop, MSN, RN, was named chief nursing officer of UH St. John Medical Center in Westlake, Ohio.
