Injury Prevention Program Mission Statement:

Our mission is to reduce and prevent injuries through ongoing education, research, and community outreach programs throughout the central Virginia region.

Objectives and Goals

1. Provide patient education on injury and violence prevention to our trauma patients and their families.
2. Establish a resource center for central Virginia on available injury prevention programs and current injury prevention resources
3. Maintain and update website information with educational programs and outreach.
4. Develop injury prevention as well as intervention programs for our region based on local, state, and national data.
5. Pursue grant and other funding opportunities.
6. Cultivate collaborative partnerships with other health institutions and community organizations in central Virginia for the reduction of preventable injuries.
7. Advance injury prevention and intervention research based on the needs of the central Virginia region.
