Nelson L. Bernardo, MD
Dr. Bernardo is Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories and Percutaneous Endovascular Intervention at McGuire VA Medical Center and Assistant Professor at VCU Pauley Heart Center.
Dr. Bernardo received his MD from the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center in Quezon City, Philippines. He completed his residency in internal medicine as well as his fellowship training in cardiovascular medicine and in interventional cardiology at MCV/VCU. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and the subspecialties of Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology, and is a member of the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Bernardo has authored or co-authored more than 35 scientific articles and abstracts that have been published in journals including the American Journal of Physiology, American Journal of Cardiology, Lasers in Surgery and Medicine and Journal of Molecular and Cellular Cardiology. He is a frequent presenter at national and international scientific meetings, with more than 20 posters and presentations to his credit.
