General Information
VCU Medical Center's Forensics Program was established in 1997. We provide forensic examinations, evidence collection, documentation, physical evidence recovery kits, and expert testimony for individuals seen at VCU Medical Center. The Forensic Program is comprised of specially trained Forensic Nurse Examiners, Emergency Physicians, Chaplains, and Social Workers. We work closely with Detectives, Law Enforcement, Commonwealth Attorneys and Victim Witness Advocates. The Team provides services for all adult victims of violence. Services include, but are not limited to, victims of domestic violence, elderly abuse, sexual assault, gun shot wounds, stabbing, dog bits, motor vehicle accidnts, and assault. Pediatric patients are currently seen in the VCU Medical Center's Child Protection Center, under the direction of Dr. Robin Foster.
