The Virginia Commonwealth University Health System (VCUHS) Dietetic Internship is a supervised practice program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Minimum requirements for entrance to a dietetic internship include a baccalaureate degree and completion of the Didactic Program in Dietetics curriculum.
The internship at VCUHS is participating in the DICAS (Dietetic Internship Central Application System). This requires that your application be submitted through the central application portal. See ACEND website for information. Please follow the DICAS guidelines for submitting your application. The deadline for application is February 15, 2014 for the Spring Match and September 25, 2013 for the Fall Match. Be sure to include all DICAS payments required.
There is also an application fee for the program. Send a check or money order for $50 (no cash), payable to VCUHS. This application fee is non-refundable. The application fee for our program must be postmarked by the DICAS application deadline.

NEW! The VCUHS Dietetic Internship is an 11-month program with one class of eight beginning in early August and graduating in early July (Spring Match) and one class of six beginning in early January with an early December graduation (Fall Match). For the Spring Match, six applicants are selected to complete the MNT concentration and two are selected to complete the Food and Nutrition Management concentration. For the Fall Match, only the MNT concentration is offered at this time.
