Instructions for the letter of application
This is your opportunity to tell us more about you.
You should include when and why you selected dietetics as a career,
what experiences have reinforced this decision, and where you see yourself
in the future. Include a brief description of a leadership role you have assumed and the behaviors you exhibited which made you feel like a leader. You should include something about yourself and why you selected
this internship. You may also take this opportunity to explain other aspects
of your application and any factors which would help us in our selection
process. Since this is your chance to communicate with us, we do not have
a specific outline. The letter should be typed and limited to two double-spaced pages.
Equal
Opportunity statement
It is the policy of the VCUHS to provide equal opportunities, services, and access to all employees without regard to race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, disability, or veteran’s status. Access to employment opportunities, services, and programs is based on the principles of Equal Opportunity and non-Discrimination as expressed in this policy, the Affirmative Action Plan, and other VCUHS diversity initiatives. In addition, acts of either verbal or physical harassment based on race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, disability, or veteran’s status will not be tolerated and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
Reference
forms
Three letters of reference are required. The references should be from two of the following: a major professor in nutrition, a food-service management professor or your adviser. The third letter should be a work reference. These references should be sent with the application.
If you have waived your right of access to the reference, it should be placed
in a sealed envelope and signed on the back flap by the endorser. If you
have not waived your right of access, the envelope is not necessary. These
references must have an original signature. VCUHS does not discriminate in

areas should not be included in the reference.
