In
addition to the online resources listed below, there are
a number of print resources available in the Community Health
Education Center on diabetes purchased through funds provided
by the Urban League of Richmond. CHEC is the designated
Diabetes Learning Resource Center for the Urban
League of Greater Richmond's Regional Health Training
and Technical Assistance Center. Funding for this project
was supplied through a seed grant from the National Urban
League's "Lift Every Voice" diabetes education program.
Using curriculum developed by the Diabetes Today National
Training Center, this project focuses on improving the health
outcomes of African-American adults living in inner city
Richmond by providing consumer-level health information
covering all aspects of diabetes and addressing the health
literacy needs of the intended population.
